How often do you complain that your neck and shoulders are KILLING you? Chances are you’re holding all of your tension and stress in that area. It is very common for people to hike their shoulders to their ears unconsciously and inadvertently during periods of stress and high performance. So, to help you get through your day at the office, here are some stretches that you can do to ease that tension:
1) FOR YOUR NECK: Lower your right ear toward your right shoulder. Press gently down on your temple with your fingertips. Hold for 10 seconds, release, and repeat 10 times on each side.
2) FOR YOUR SHOULDER: Raise your right arm up, keeping your elbow locked and your palm facing forward. Grasp your arm between the elbow and shoulder with your left hand. Pull gently, hold for 10 seconds, release, and repeat 10 times on each side.
The great thing about these stretches is they can be done ANYWHERE and they also force you to take a little bit of a break throughout the day!
